At last an album based on sound geographical principles. Bear with me. Digiboga is the psychedelic lovechild of Sweden’s Digital Structures and Denmark’s Iboga.

The Scandinavian pals have teamed up mirroring a physical bridge (the Oresund, opened in 2000, for those taking notes) that links Malmö and Copenhagen. With me so far?

What we have then is a unification of two of the world’s finest and most characteristic labels, and happily it’s a joy. Son Kite (whose brilliant Reewo opens proceedings), Ticon and P-Woland represent the Digital Structures Stable, with Iboga’s ambassadors including Beat Bizarre, Llopis and the wonderful Reefer Decree (whose Curved Air, featured in original form and remixed to vampiric effect by P-Woland, is a highlight.)

There’s simply too much to talk about here – everybody remixes everybody else, across 16 tracks on 2 CD’s (with vinyl junkies kept happy with a remixes-only doublepack.) Let’s just say that if that progressive, slightly paranoid-making, addictive scando sound does it for you, this is the icing on the cake. Lovely stuff.
