Infected Mushroom Cities Of The Future (Single) BNE (ISrael)

I always have to desist with saying things like, "stay tuned and watch these boys! they're gonna be biiig!" because it's not funny. Everyone likes at least something infected have done, whether you're a Gathering-junkie or one of those types who preferred the 2nd CD on converting vegetarians (and who are we to argue with that, in a world where some people like having hamsters stuck up their bottoms it seems a perfectly reasonable preference if thats what floats your boat.) And so here, on the verge of the new infected album, comes this single. Cities Of The Future is lifted from the forthcoming album and well... to be honest it's all about the vocal. Is

it great? Classic? Fun-poking? Or utterly abhorrent? Disastrous? Boyband depeche mode wannabee? Whatever your personal take, the underlying tune is unquestionably good, with trademark infected chord changes and their tecchy energy which is best when it gets messy (which it does for about a minute.) Violet Vision's remix is adequate, the second half of the tune's pretty good but there's too much reliance of a vocal that was questionable to start with. Tacked on the end is Cream, which has been a bit of a hit on the unreleased circuit (i.e. posh DJs with ADSL and soulseek) and it's a pretty decent tune -- the signature melody is huge, exploding into pure infected bl iss. As an indication to the forthcoming album, this is looking nice -- they're clearly at a bit of a crossroads in terms of where to go next, and they might -- they just might -- make the best decision of their musical careers.
