Man With No Name Interstate Highway Dragonfly
Martin Freeland, the Man With No Name, is back after a long time with a new album and a new sound. Gone is that big distorted kickdrum and anthemic sound of his hits from the mid to late 90s Floor Essence, Sugar Rush etc., which established him as a big name on the psy scene. This has been replaced by a more progressive, stripped-down style which stil retains his remaining trademark sounds. Tracks like Axis Flip, a building track with a really cool melody that just hooks you in as it oes further and further, and Cocoon with its Pink Floydy guitar riff show off the pacey new progressive style to its best. Space Juice, Visit The Man and East 98th Street keep the old style sounds alive in a fresh way. Good stuff, and if youre a fan of his older sound and arent afraid of progression by artists then give this a listen. Youll be pleasantly surprised. Welcome back.
