Amtrax Atomliner EP Spiral Trax (Sweden)

The idea is enough to get you going – Tomasz Balicki and Marcus Maichel, aka Atmos and that bloke from X-Dream. Hooray! And the result is damn fine. Atomliner has production as clear as a bell, it chugs along nicely in a morning-ish sort of way and quickly achieves, and then maintains, a perfect balance of sounds. The effect on 12” is mesmerising – it’s a truly gorgeous vinyl moment. Over to the flip and Citylinerhas melodies building up and layering perfectly, prting just enough to let you groove along happily in the middle. Damn fine progressive with a sheer, clean finish. Finally Techliner is more jumpy and with the emphasis on layered percussive elements. All in all a nice EP, now can we have an album please?
