Some nice stuff here, and a good comedown to some of the more mental moments this week. Sense Geminis You Can Hurt Me is a competent female-vocal breakbeat-emotive fest (think Lamb or Massive Attack) with some good effects and all in all a nicely laid-down tune if you can get past the Deep Forest / Enigma flavour to it all. Parameter Normal from the rather delightful Trancefeld is a smooth, liquified-linear tune with Trancefeld trademark percussive runs and cute flurries. Segments Ektos City is a snarling, fresh progressive tune with neat runs, a tight and bassy atmosphere and some nice sonic accents. Omega from Different Sources has a rolling vibe thats quite refreshing, though its shamelessly minimal vibe will leave some wanting more. Cosmixs Now & Ever has a good flavour, a slomo set of melodies pinned down by morning-friendly backbone. Pitch it up a couple of notches and it should keep everyone smiling. Constracts The Strange Unusual is a tecchy, confident trancer that samples Beetlejuice and almost works like a laid-back ambient tune with some incidental beats. Definitely another favouring the morning moments, the vibes easy and breezy. Trancefeld pops up again with Pure Fiction, a bouncier vibe than a lot of his other stuff but maintaining the smooth-edged, technoid feel. Jacques Gelee brings things to a close with Autopilot, a laid-back techno excursion with genuine detroit elements and a warped as hell, Jeff Mills-style leadline. All in all good stuff, and probably one of the finest collections of techno-trance around at the moment.
