Triac Sink / Brain Can Dance Domo (Israel)

The debut release from Domo is powerful as ten dozen painkillers and as memorable as the bang on the head that made you need the painkillers in the first place (if you catch my drift). Sink has one of the most awesome atmospheres ever laid down on vinyl, with a moody intro sequence that sets the scene for a bladerunner-esque, post-apocalyptic vibe. After the breakdown things get deep and manic, with plenty going on and a fine balance between sounds. Brain Can Dance is more squirmy and snakey with tight filtered percussion and a grating couple of breakdowns. Not as thru the roof as Sink, but Triac’s desolate and deep-set style is set to infect. A name to watch.
