Twisted

A lovely 12" from the Twisted crew. To recap, Younger Brother is Simon Posford (Hallucinogen, Shpongle) plus Benji Vaughan Prometheus), in one of the most widely-anticipated collaborations in trance history. The Finger is awesome, just awesome: Hallucinogen’s influence is abundant, with heavy kicks and arpeggios building, tribal chants looped until it wrenches your brain from your head and dribbles it upcourt before slam dunking it into yet another frenzied bout of kick-driven trance. Shpongle vocalist Michele guests in the mid section, which has to be heard to be believed - you just forget everything as it takes you higher and higher - just as this music should. Even Dwarves Start Small is given the remix treatment courtesy of Synthetic who delivers a heavy thumper interpretation, while Prometheus provides a funk-driven workout with an electro feel and more analogue squelches than you can shake a stick at.
