An odd compilation that left me quite confused. Is it psytrance? Is it trance? Or house? Whats going on? Lando and Chrismas Interesting Places kicks things off, and its immediately clear that this isnt run of the mill stuff. Its four-four, a nice pace with a mellow vibe its drinking music, a slithering substrate creeping along, ideal stuff for early on in the set or indeed for progressive and even house sets. Alegrias We Will Dance is a em, fusing trance, techno and house to make a tune with unique sound and movement. Detroit stabs drive it along, it bumbles along effortlessly and rather than creating an infectious groove than it then sucks you right in to, its a smooth platform that will have you grinning and grooving along over the top. Fractal Fuckers from New Disco Science Alliance wins best track name, a stripped-down and funky technoid groover. Antixs Flipped is also worth a mention, a kinda housey, smooth slab of progressive trance thats got plenty of cute character an a resoundingly sweet atmosphere. The Iboga sound is as addictive as it is fresh, and while this wont et pulses racing on the full-on maniac dancefloors, theres bags of depth, class and clarity in this sneaky little compilation. 4
