Various Fire Turbotrance (France)

French label Turbotrance follow on from the global success of last year’s Origins compilation with this storming set of unreleased belters from some of the bigest names in the scene. Mumbo Jumbo kick start proceedings with the delicious Pornogram, with the ever-danceable Cosmosis evident all over the place in this very individual future-disko number. Tiptych’s Funky Wah is one of a couple of tunes here to feature guitars, and it builds into a nice high end melody driving over the top of a morphing bassline. Hyper Frequencies’ Cosmos Box also uses a guitar, this time distorted to the max like a bedroom Van Halen, creating a central core to the tune that picks you up and drives into the sunset. GMS step in with Zak & Kracht, which is awesome- not often does something get me dancing round the flat like a dervish, knocking shit of the shelves and grinning all the while... but this is so good, one of the best tunes to have been released recently, with plenty of full-on party vibes and more danceability than anything else this week. More! ;) Neuromotor’s Speed Freak is a right bastard of a tune, totally killer with full power twisty energy, lovely acid lines which will just blow the dancefloor away. T.I.T.’s Can You Believe To Touch The Sky has loads of energy, a wonderful melody and emotion that will have them reaching into the air; touch the sky indeed. A really loveable and listenable collection, highly recommended. (9/10) DB
