Bubble
Live-band psytrance fusion from Israel, with tight sounds and a clean, electro-ey feel right the way through. When the fusion works best (Ozric and Astraliasia-alike Blinch-Ass), it’s intricate, unfolding psychedelic-rock and works exceptionally well.
Quan2 and I’m Looking sound like a subtler, more varied Beat Hackers, Storytails and the title track work less well, taking pretty boggish euphoric trance and sticking a couple of plinky plonky sounds on top, and the stab at fullon Bubble In Panic has a tremendous amount of energy flooding through it. Occasional infected-alike keychanges and distorted guitar breaks do let the side down a bit and spoil an otherwise perfect flow, but luckily they don’t happen too often. It’s an interesting release, well-suited to home or car listening and further evidence of those attempts to push the boundaries back a little more.
