Miam Miam / Random Future – Flying Rhino
Bamboo Forest
France’s Bamboo Forest have an album on the way (and naturally the review will appear here just at the right time) and this taster 12″ promises good things to come.
Miam Miam is fat, very fat, building nicely into a lovely breakdown that has bags of atmosphere and holds the tension nicely. Then, a huge mammoth-sized kick comes in, and it’s off and off into a high-octane trance stomper. The riff line is awesome, setting nicely on those cute minor lines that give a nice edge, and it’s got the perfect blend of messy and tight to put a smile on everybody’s face.
Random Future is beefy again, with tech-stabs aplenty and a nice tight groove. Doesn’t quite have the same impact as Miam Miam, but site perfectly in the mix and an ideal transition tune when you want to start turning up the heat.
A nice 12 from Flying Rhino, getting mouths watering en masse for the Bamboo Forest album.
